
Russian internet search engine Yandex plans to launch a chargeable video service enabling customers to watch films, reports Vedomosti citing unspecified sources close to the company. Yandex is currently negotiating with copyright holders on the acquisition of carriage rights. The service is expected to be launched at the end of this year or shortly after.
Yandex currently owns the online service Kinopoisk Plus, which aggregates video content from other online cinemas.It earns money through advertising.
