Yoigo CEO hints at MasMovil deal

The CEO of Spanish mobile operator Yoigo has suggested the company may have to purchase smaller rival MasMovil to continue competing in the country's fixed and mobile markets. Currently Spain's fourth mobile network operator with just over 6 percent of service revenues, TeliaSonera's Spanish unit is hoping to grow by acquiring fixed and mobile assets from Orange, which will have to divest some activities in order to gain the EC's approval for its takeover of Jazztel. However, Orange is said to favour ceding assets to a smaller operator such as MasMovil, with only 300,000 mobile customers
