Spanish mobile operator Yoigo has launched a combined fixed-mobile bundle, dubbed Fusion, the first fruit of the network-sharing agreement it signed with Telefonica's Movistar back in August. Under the agreement Yoigo was given access to Movistar's broadband infrastructure in exchange for allowing Movistar to use its 4G network. The result is Yoigo's first-ever integrated mobile and broadband offer, Yoigo Fusion, which not only shares the name of Movistar's Fusion service, but also many of its characteristics and pricing.
Yoigo has confirmed that three tariff plans will be available under its Fusion offer: the basic plan, Fusion Plana, comes with unlimited landline calls to national numbers, ADSL up to 10 Mbps, 100 minutes of mobile calls and 100 MB of mobile data at 4G speeds for EUR 34 per month. Fusion Infinita comes with unlimited landline calls to national numbers, 500 minutes to mobile numbers at the weekend and 50 minutes during the week, ADSL up to 10 Mbps, unlimited mobile calls and 1GB of mobile data at 4G speeds for EUR 49 per month. Finally, Fusion Fibra has the same characteristics as Fusion Infinita but includes fibre broadband up to 100 Mbps for EUR 59 per month. There is a tie-in period of 12 months for all three plans, the prices of which are exclusive of VAT.
In addition, Yoigo is making a further attempt to turn around its disappointing figures for September (when the operator lost 7,000 customers after gaining 8,000 in August) by offering three handsets free with any of its tariff plans: the Huawei Ascend Y200, Alcatel One Touch SPop and LG Optimus L3 II. Several other smartphones will also be heavily subsidised at prices ranging from EUR 29 to EUR 79 euros in association with the operator’s unlimited tariff plans.
