Young people dropping Twitter app on smartphones - study

Twitter's footprint in the Netherlands is shrinking. Around one in five (22%) of the Dutch had the Twitter app on their smartphone in October, down from 26 percent a year ago, according to the latest Dutch Apps Market report from Telecompaper. This means around 250,000 potential customers lost in the past year. It's mainly young people deleting the app from their phone, with Twitter's penetration among 12-19 year-olds dropping from 35 percent a year ago to 20 percent now. Twitter's penetration is higher with people in their 20s, 30s and 40s. Young people are adopting Instagram and Snapchat
