Youth addicted to social media growing strongly - CBS

Friday 18 May 2018 | 21:31 CET | News
The rise of smartphones and social media means that more people feel addicted to the use of platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram. State statistics bureau CBS has noted this trend, especially among young adults. In the space of two years (2015-2017), the number of social media use addicts in this group (18-25 years) has grown to 29 percent from 19 percent. The number of people who feel addicted in age groups above 25 is much lower. Over all age groups, about 10 percent of Dutch people say that they cannot live without social media.
