Youth gets 12-mth rehab sentence for TalkTalk cyber attack

The 17-year-old who admitted he was behind the cyber attack on TalkTalk last fall has been sentenced to a 12-month rehabilitation order, Reuters reported. The attack affected around 4 percent of the company's 4 million customers and cost it around GBP 60 million. Talk Talk was also fined GBP 400,000 for insufficient security that allowed customer data to be accessed. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said the case involved the deliberate exposure of a security issue on the Talk Talk website, with prosecutors able to demonstrate how the defendant found the security hole and share the details
