YouTube allows live mobile streaming for biggest creators

Wednesday 8 February 2017 | 09:09 CET | News
YouTube is opening up mobile live streaming to some of its biggest stars. Video creators on the site with more than 10,000 subscribers can now live stream over the YouTube mobile app to their followers. YouTube said it will open the feature up to other creators on the site "soon". YouTue also introduced a new tool called Super Chat to help monetise live streaming. Super Chat lets any fan watching a live stream get a creator's attention by purchasing chat messages that are highlighted in bright colors and stay pinned to the top of the chat window for up to five hours.
