YouTube Gaming launches outside US

Thursday 10 March 2016 | 22:53 CET | News
YouTube announced that it was launching the YouTube Gaming app for iOS and Android in several new markets, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland, with more countries to come soon. It is a dedicated app for streaming and recorded game videos. TechCrunch reports that YouTube Gaming also announced a number of new features as it strives to offer a better product than its rival, Amazon-owned Twitch. YouTube Gaming will promote its 'live' game streams and the live stream player for Android will be upgraded to support 60 fps playback, quality switching and DVR mode.
