YouTube removed over 8 mln videos from site in Q4

Tuesday 24 April 2018 | 14:36 CET | News
Google's YouTube subsidiary announced that it removed over 8 million videos from the site for infringing its community guidelines between October and December 2017. The majority of the 8 million-plus videos were spam or people attempting to upload adult content and represent "a fraction of a percent" of the site's total views during the quarter, said the company in its first quarterly moderation report. It added that 6.7 million vides were first flagged for review by machines rather than humans and, of those, 76 percent were removed before they received a single view.
