YouTube says T-Mobile's Binge On throttles data traffic

Wednesday 23 December 2015 | 11:35 CET | News
YouTube is accusing T-Mobile US of throttling or degrading video traffic with its latest Binge On video programme, the Wall Street Journal reported, saying the news comes as federal regulators examine the carrier's streaming-video strategy. T-Mobile US launched the programme in November, delivering video at lower resolution in exchange for waiving related data fees. YouTube and some others say T-Mobile US is also lowering the quality of video that isn't part of the programme, including YouTube clips.
