YouTube talks to studios about premium content - report

YouTube executives have been talking to Hollywood and independent producers over the last two months in an attempt to fund premium content capable of securing higher-priced advertising, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters. The video portal is exploring the kind of support it could offer to produce more must-see programmes. One of the people said YouTube could offer between USD 1 million and USD 3 million for the production of a programme series, and may also contribute marketing funds.
