YouTube tweaks warning, penalty system for content violations

Tuesday 19 February 2019 | 16:57 CET | News
YouTube announced changes to its policies on taking down content and penalising repeat offenders of its rules. From 25 February, the platform will issue first-time offenders a warning if they post illegal or offensive content, after which its gradual penalty system will kick in. The 'three strikes' system will be applied in a more uniform fashion going forward, to all content on the site, including text and links accompanying posted videos. In addition, YouTube is improving the information to users on what kind of content violates its rules.
