Ziff Davis buys Speedtest owner Ookla

The publisher Ziff Davis announced the acquisition of Ookla, operator of the popular internet speed measurement site Speedtest.net. Ziff Davis is the digital media division of j2 Global and operates websites such as PCmag, AskMen and gaming portal IGN. No financial details of the takeover were announced, but the company said the financial impact to j2 was not expected to be material. The Speedtest site and mobile apps process over 5 million speed tests per day, using connections to over 2,500 servers worldwide.
