Ziggo accounts for third of TV subscribers wanting to switch

Around 8 percent of Dutch consumers plan to change TV provider in the next year. Market leader Ziggo is the most interesting for 15 percent of those planning to switch, while KPN and T-Mobile are also attractive for some, research by Telecompaper shows. Around a third of the customers planning to switch are from Ziggo. 

Around a quarter (26%) said they aren't sure yet which new provider they will choose, and six percent don't care who the new provider is, as long as they can quit their existing service. Ziggo was named most as the expected new provider, by 15 percent of respondents in the Consumer Insights panel planning to switch, followed by KPN's IPTV with 13 percent and T-Mobile at 6 percent. 

Excluding those who don't know which provider they will take, we see 23 percent are in favour of a switch to Ziggo, 19 percent for KPN, 9 percent would switch to T-Mobile and 7 percent for Tele2.

Just over a third (34%) of the customers planning to change TV provider are currently with Ziggo. Another 16 percent use IPTV from KPN and 7 percent are at T-Mobile. 

The figures reflect the respective market shares of the providers. Together KPN and Ziggo accounted for 83.8 percent of TV subscribers at the end of 2019.
