Ziggo drops BBC Four, Cbeebies

Dutch cable operator Ziggo will stop offering the BBC channels CBBC, BBC Four and CBeebies from 01 November, after agreeing a new distribution deal with the British public broadcaster.

Devastating news. First world problem devastating, but yet... Ziggo does not seem to understand that many of the viewers of BBC Four in the Netherlands are well-to-do cultural elite and expats. They have no problem paying extra for a Movies & Series XL package as long as there are a few premium channels. But I doubt if they will pay for Fashion TV or E! or Horse & Country TV.
