Ziggo, T-Mobile stop required data retention

The operators Ziggo UPC and T-Mobile said they will stop collecting as much data on customer communications traffic, following a court ruling suspending the Dutch data retention law. In a statement on the ruling, Ziggo said it would stop collecting and storing the data required under the law. It's still unclear what is to be done with the existing stored data, but Ziggo said it hopes to destroy the data once it's no longer needed by the state. In line with the reactions from other operators, Ziggo noted that it does collect other data on customer activity, as part of its business operations
