Ziggo tests higher broadband speeds

Wednesday 7 January 2015 | 16:29 CET | News
Ziggo is testing higher broadband speeds with a group of subscribers. Tweakers has published a letter sent by the cable operator to the test group. They will receive a new modem for the test running from mid-January to April. Ziggo wants to test installation of the new modem and daily usage. No details were available on what the "much faster" speeds will involve. A spokesman for the Dutch operator declined comment, saying only that the company regularly tests new services. Ziggo currently offers a top speed of 180/18 Mbps, while its merger partner UPC offers 200/20 Mbps.
