Zimbabwean govt bans scratch airtime cards over littering

The Zimbabwean government has given mobile phone firms six months to phase out scratch airtime recharge cards. The Minister of Environment, Water and Climate, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri,said that mobile companies have ignored the producer responsibility principle by leaving it to local authorities to pick up discarded scratchcards littering streets and pavements. The minister said mobile operators must embrace electronic top-up systems, ITWeb reported
