Telefonica Empresas, the B2B brand of the Spanish operator, said it is collaborating with electric car sharing company Zity on a trial of telemetry and driving assistance technology to prevent accidents and improve user safety. The 9-month project will be conducted on 100 vehicles in Zity’s fleet and will also involve the partners Geotab and Mobileye. The aim is to eventually integrate the platform on all 800-plus cars in Zity’s fleet, said the partners.
The trial will see the deployment of Geotab Go device, a fleet management platform that promotes safer driving behaviour via near real-time data on speed, acceleration, hard braking alerts, door and engine status, punctures and more. Zity cars will also trial Geotab’s Go Talk voice message platform that provides drivers with real-time audio messages and feedback.
The safe driving pilot will also feature Mobileye’s ADAS driving assistance system to reduce traffic accidents and road accidents using a single camera that monitors safety distance with the vehicle in front, provides additional information on road signs and warns drivers of potential risks.
