KPN is working with the Dutch city of Zoetermeer and the justice ministry on preventing thefts in the city. The company is promoting a subscription under its SmartLife platform for an alarm service delivered with Trigion, available at a cost of EUR 10 or EUR 19 per month. Customers receive a package with door and window sensors and an IP camera with connections to an alarm centre in order to help protect their home from burglaries. KPN will offer the first 1,000 subscribers in Zoetermeer the package free. The normal price is EUR 399.
