Zoom launches Hardware as a Service

Zoom Video Communication teamed up with hardware manufacturers DTEN, Neat, Poly, and Yealink to launch Zoom Hardware as a Service (HaaS). Zoom HaaS is designed to make Zoom Rooms and Zoom Phone more accessible by minimising friction around hardware procurement. Customers can choose from a variety of products made by DTEN, Neat, Poly, and Yealink.

With Zoom HaaS, customers can deploy a communications experience with a variety of subscription options for phone and meeting room hardware. Zoom customers can scale video conference rooms and phones with budget-friendly hardware options and simple technology upgrades at an affordable, fixed monthly price. HaaS gives enterprises the same flexibility in their hardware as they have in their Zoom software. Zoom customers have more options than ever to procure world-class video communication products. Zoom HaaS is currently available in the US.

Zoom raises FY outlook after revenues, profit soar in Q2

Zoom Video Communications raised its forecast for the full year after reporting much higher than expected second quarter results. The company's revenues leapt 355 percent from the year before to USD 663.5 million, the operating profit increased to USD 188.1 million from 2.3 million, and the adjusted operating profit rose to USD 277 million form 20.7 million.

Zoom Video Communications named Jason Lee as its Chief Information Security Officer, effective  29 June. Lee brings 20 years of expertise in information security and operating mission critical services. He was most recently the SVP of Security Operations at Salesforce, and previously was Principal Director of Security Engineering at Microsoft. Lee will lead Zoom's security team and report to Aparna Bawa, Zoom's Chief Operating Officer.
