ZTE pushes for 'pre-5G' development

ZTE has presented its vision on the development of 5G mobile technology, saying it expects 'pre-5G' to launch earlier using existing LTE equipment. In an address to the International Workshop on 5G-ICT Technologies conference in Beijing, Xiang Jiying, the company's CTO of Wireless Products, said pre-5G will become available much earlier than 5G and deliver user experience comparable to 5G, offering high throughput and low latency. Pre-5G will use some key 5G technologies, whilst being provisioned on existing 4G user equipment. He said the industry already has "a lot of clarity on 5G user
