ZTE returns to profit, sales still down 10%
ZTE said it has returned to a net profit, helped by cost reductions, a greater focus on margins and extraordinary gains. The Chinese equipment maker recorded a net profit of CNY 552 million in the first nine months of the year, in line with its forecast of CNY 500-700 million. It said net profit was also positive in Q3, after unspecified extraordinary items. It expects to return to a full-year profit, after a loss of CNY 2.84 billion last year. 

Revenues were still down 10 percent in the nine-month period to CNY 54.66 billion, amid sluggish spending by most operators and a delay to 4G licences in China. The company noted that the timing of 4G contracts in China is still a risk to its full-year outlook.

ZTE terug naar winst in Q3

ZTE heeft over het derde kwartaal van dit jaar een nettowinst behaald van 242 miljoen yuan (39,2 miljoen dollar). Daarmee keert het Chinese bedrijf terug naar winst na een verlies van 2,8 miljard yuan in 2012. In Q3 2012 noteerde ZTE nog een verlies van 1,9 miljard yuan. De omzet van het bedrijf kwam het afgelopen kwartaal uit op ruim 17 miljard yuan, een daling van 5,6 procent. ZTE launches GH800 GoTa handset

Global provider of telecommunications provider, ZTE has launched the GH800, an LTE-enabled large-screen smart-broadband trunking mobile handset at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition 2013 (GITEX) in Dubai. Huawei, ZTE take half China Mobile LTE contract - report

China Mobile has awarded initial LTE contracts worth around CNY 20 billion with Chinese suppliers Huawei and ZTE taking more than half, reports Reuters citing industry sources. ZTE forecasts strong improvement in Q3 profit

ZTE has forecast a strong improvement in profits in the third quarter, following an increased focus at at the Chinese equipment maker on high-margin contracts over volume. Huawei, Ericsson dominate LTE contracts - study

Huawei and Ericsson obtained the highest number of LTE contracts as deployments of 4G networks accelerate, according to an analysis of vendor positioning by Informa Telecoms & Media.
