Digicel Barbados has signed an agreement with ZTE to expand its 4G-LTE network throughout the island, reports local portal Loop News, citing the operator’s CEO Alex Tasker. “We’re making another important step in the delivery of a world-class network that will keep Barbadians connected at speeds they never imagined,” said Tasker, adding that the expansion is a key pillar of the company’s Digicel 2030 transformation plan and would above all benefit Barbadians in rural areas.

Digicel was the first provider to launch 4G services in Barbados back in October 2016, followed by rival Flow in March 2017.
