Zynga files trademark suit against Kobojo
Social network game publisher Zynga has filed suit in San Francisco against French game publisher Kobojo over trademark infringement, Reuters reports. Zynga's complaint is centered around Kobojo's use of the suffix "Ville" in its game PyramidVille, released on Facebook early last year. Zynga contends that Facebook users are likely to mistakenly believe that Pyramidville is a member of its game family including FarmVille, CityVille and CastleVille. Zynga does not hold the trademark for the word "Ville" but has consistently promoted the "Ville" family of games together. The legal action came after Kobojo refused to change the name of its game. Zynga is seeking damages of three times Kobojo's profit from PyramidVille.
