3 Denmark signs national roaming agreement with TDC, replacing deal with Telia

3 Denmark said that it has signed a roaming agreement with TDC, which will enable it and its Oister sub-brand's customers to use mobile services via TDC in places where 3 Denmark's own network does not reach. This replaces the roaming agreement with Telia Denmark, dating from 2015, and covers 2G, 3G and 4G alike. 3 Denmark added that its own LTE network covers 98 percent of the Danish population.

The new agreement with TDC begins on 05 February and full roll-out is expected by the end of this month.

3 Denmark said it will use the Roskilde Festival from 29 June to 06 July as a test for its 3G network switch-off. More than 130,000 spectators are expected to attend and constantly use the mobile internet, providing enabling the operator to try out switching to 4G in an environment similar to those of the future.

3 Denmark FY revenue falls 3%, EBITDA down 10%

3 Denmark suffered a fall in revenue to DKK 2.18 billion in 2018 from DKK 2.25 billion the year before, according to 3 Group. Net customer service revenue declined to DKK 1.88 billion from DKK 1.94 billion a year earlier and handset revenue dropped to DKK 120 million from DKK 126 million. The Danish company had already separately announced in figures for the fourth quarter that customers have been holding on to the handsets for longer.

Telenor, Telia appoint new managing director for joint Danish mobile network

Telenor Denmark has announced the appointment from 18 March of Henrik Brogaard as CEO of TT, its joint mobile communications network with Telia Denmark. He will join TT from the role of managing director at the fintech company Bancore and has previously worked at Ericsson, TDC and Nokia.

3 Scandinavia offers free earbuds with reservations of Galaxy 10 smartphones

3 Scandinavia is accepting reservations for Samsung's new Galaxy S10 range of smartphones and is offering free Galaxy Buds earphones for these orders placed in advance of sales on 08 March. 3 Denmark said the earbuds are worth DKK 1,199 and 3 Sweden put their value at SEK 1,590.

TDC buys SME provider Firmafon

Danish operator TDC Group said it has agreed to acquire Firmafon, a mobile operator specialising in services for SMEs. It said that Firmafon will continue to trade as an independent brand as part of its online brands portfolio, which includes Telmore, Fullrate, Hiper and Blockbuster. It added that Firmafon supports SMEs in building stronger relationships with their clients by providing them with the same professional communications and customer service as larger operators.

3 Denmark enters home internet market by offering 1 TB monthly, offers parallel enterprise service

Mobile operator 3 Denmark is entering the fixed wireless internet market, offering web service to residences and businesses using its 4G network. It said the system is easy to instal and the operator expects to compete with fixed broadband providers. It is offering retail customers 1 TB per month for DKK 230, a free Huawei B525 router worth DKK 1,699.

3 Denmark adds 19,000 customers in Q4, revenue and operating profit dip

3 Denmark said it added 19,000 customers in the fourth quarter. It ended 2018 with over 1.33 million customers, up by 4.5 percent or 57,000 year on year. The Danish mobile operator said it is targeting 1.50 million customers.

3 Denmark adds Vietnam, Malaysia, South Korean and Taiwan to 3LikeHome service

3 Denmark said it has extended its 3LikeHome roaming service to Vietnam, Malaysia, South Korea and Taiwan. The services enables customers to make and receive calls and to ring Danish and local numbers, as well as send SMS and MMS to Danish and local numbers, at the same price as when in Denmark. They can also use up to 20 GB of their mobile internet allowance.

3 Denmark offers F-Secure SAFE to protect children online

3 Denmark said that 80 percent of Danes think children should be better protected online, and 96 percent believe it is important to teach minors to use the internet securely, according to a survey that it commissioned from Userneeds. To help parents monitor their offspring's online activity, 3 Denmark is offering F-Secure SAFE as a bolt-on web security service to its customers. It is available from 12 December and costs DKK 39 per month to cover three devices.

3 Denmark signs national roaming deal with Telia

3 Denmark has signed a new wholesale roaming agreement with Telia, replacing its previous deal with TDC. The agreement gives 3 access to 3G data roaming, which was not part of the TDC deal, as well as 2G and 3G voice. Telia and 3 said they expect the national service to be implemented by the end of February 2016. Roaming will be available to 3's customers anywhere its own network does not cover, and they will be switched automatically to the Telia 2G or 3G network when needed.
