Altice confirms talks on Cabovisao sale
Altice is negotiating the sale of Portuguese cable operator Cabovisao with various potential buyers, one of the founders of the French company, Armando Pereira, told reporters. According to the paper Publico, he said that Altice will sell Cabovisao, as it expects the competition regulator will require the divestment in order to grant approval for Altice's planned takeover of Portugal Telecom. A deal may be agreed soon, Pereira said.

The manager added that Altice aims to maintain employment at PT after the takeover, but some layers of senior management may be reduced. Pereira confirmed the group will invest EUR 150 million annually in the next two to three years to provide the country with a fibre-optic network.
