Amazon to bring Android app store to Europe
Amazon.com announced the expansion of its Android mobile app store to new markets outside the US. Developers can now submit apps for distribution this summer in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, with plans for further global expansion in the near future.

The Amazon Appstore in the US already counts tens of thousands of apps a little over a year after launching. It offers features such as '1-Click' purchasing and Test Drive, which allows customers to try apps before purchasing. Amazon also recently introduced an in-app purchasing service to help developers further monetize their apps and games.

App developers already on the store will have their apps made available for sale internationally by default. New and existing developers can also specify markets for international availability. Amazon also announced a change to its revenue share with app developers. Starting 01 July, developers will earn 70 percent of list price on each paid app sale. This is a change from the prior terms under which developers earned either 70 percent of the app’s sales price or 20 percent of list price (whichever was greater).
