America Movil COO steps down from KPN board
KPN announced that Oscar van Hauske Solis, COO of America Movil, has stepped down from the KPN supervisory board with immediate effect. America Movil will limit itself to one seat on the KPN board since it designated its stake in KPN as an investment for sale, rather than a strategic holding. The Mexican operator's CFO, Carlos Garcia Moreno Elizondo will remain a member of KPN's board. After failing to acquire KPN in 2013, America Movil put its minority stake in the company up for sale earlier this year. In September, it issued bonds exchangeable into the KPN shares.

America Movil may consider selling its 21.4 percent stake in KPN after receiving interest from a number of parties, Reuters reported. CFO Carlos Garcia Morena said the company had in the past already received expressions of interest and that these were coming in again. America Movil is considering the sale of its minority stake in Dutch operator KPN, people with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg. The 21 percent stake is what remains of America Movil's failed takeover attempt of KPN almost three years ago. AMX-topman Solis vertrekt uit RvC KPN

KPN maakt bekend dat Oscar van Hauske Solís, COO en bestuurslid van América Móvil (AMX) per direct is teruggetreden uit de Raad van Commissarissen (RvC) van KPN. AMX wil het aantal zetels in de RvC bij KPN beperken tot één, omdat het bedrijf zijn investering in KPN heeft aangemerkt als een belang dat verkocht kan worden. Carlos García Moreno Elizondo, CFO van AMX, blijft lid van de RvC. Er zijn verder geen besluiten genomen over nieuwe nominaties voor de RvC van KPN.

America Movil issues exchangeable bonds with KPN shares

America Movil announced the completion of a placement of EUR 750 million in bonds exchangeable into shares of Dutch operator KPN. The three-year bonds pay annual interest of 5.5 percent, as well as an additional interest equal to 85 percent of the gross amount of cash dividends and distributions paid in relation to the underlying KPN ordinary shares. KPN well-placed to remain independent - CEO

KPN is in a good position to remain independent in the coming years, CEO Eelco Block told De Telegraaf following Q2 results from the Dutch operator. America Movil reclassifies KPN stake as asset for sale

America Movil has reclassified its stake in KPN as an "asset available for sale". Previously the around 21 percent stake was considered a "long-term investment valued at cost". According to the Mexican company's Q2 report, the reclassification is due to the issue in May of bonds convertible to KPN shares, a method to dispose of the stake eventually.
