AT&T sells America Movil stake for USD 282 mln
AT&T has sold 250 million shares in America Movil for USD 282 million, Reuters reports, citing a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Between 3 and 20 December, AT&T's subsidiary AT&T International sold some of its L series shares of America Movil. According to an AT&T spokesperson, from time to time AT&T rebalances its asset levels and raise cash for general corporate purposes. In its third quarter report, AT&T said it had a 9.1 percent overall stake in America Movil. America Movil has three share classes including the L shares.

AT&T has announced it is offering T-Mobile customers USD 450 per line when they switch to AT&T and trade in an eligible smartphone. AT&T board member Chico Pardo buys America Movil stake

Jaime Chico Pardo, a Mexican businessman and board member of US operator AT&T, has acquired a stake in America Movil, Reuters reports, citing a regulatory filing. The MXN 285.4 million (approximately USD 21.79 million) purchase occurred around the same time as AT&T sold 250 million shares in America Movil. Chico Pardo's purchase, which is equivalent to less than 0.1 percent of America Movil, was made with personal funds and as compensation from his employer.

AT&T reduces stake in America Movil

AT&T has reduced its stake in Latin American carrier America Movil. According to a SEC filing, AT&T sold 540 million shares in America Movil in the open market in May and early June. The company said in a statement to Bloomberg that the share sale is part of efforts to maintain its stake at about 9 percent and compensate for America Movil's recent share buyback programme. The sale of the shares is worth about USD 564 million.

AT&T interest in Vodafone unlikely

According to the Financial Times, Verizon and AT&T are preparing a joint bid for Vodafone. They are reportedly ready to offer around 260 pence per share, the equivalent of around EUR 190 billion. Verizon would then take over Vodafone's 45 percent in Verizon Wireless, while AT&T would get the rest of Vodafone's assets.

AT&T to sell Telmex stake to America Movil

AT&T announced it would sell its stake in Mexican fixed-line operator Telmex for USD 1.37 billion. America Movil earlier announced that it will launch a tender offer for all of the outstanding shares of Telmex that it does not already own, for MXN 10.50 per share. If the sale is completed, AT&T expects to turn a profit of one to three cents per share of its Telmex stock, according to a company filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
