Netflix has announced a deal to produce films and series with former US president Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, the Obamas will produce a range of scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries and features, said Netflix, adding that the couple have set up Higher Ground Productions to produce the content to be aired on the streaming service. “We hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world,” said Barack Obama in a statement.
