US retailer Best Buy has announced that it has started accepting Apple Pay as a payment method in its iPhone app, and that will begin accepting the digital payment system in its physical stores later this year. "We want to give our customers as many options as possible in how they pay for goods and services at Best Buy," said the company in a statement. The partnership with Best Buy is Apple's first with a member of the MCX consortium of retailers and food chains, which is itself creating an alternative payment app called CurrentC that offers rewards to shoppers.
