BlackBerry unveils 5-inch Z30 smartphone, 10.2 OS
BlackBerry has unveiled a new high-end smartphone called the Z30. Featuring a 5-inch touchscreen and top-of-the-range components, the Z30 will come with the new 10.2 version of the BlackBerry OS. It will launch the week of 23 September in the UK and the Middle East and reach other regions before the year-end holiday season. BlackBerry will also roll out the new OS software to users of the Z10, Q10 and Q5 smartphones beginning mid-October.

The BlackBerry Z30 features a 5-inch Super Amoled screen, 1.7 GHz processor and the largest battery ever in a BlackBerry, at 2,880 mAh. Improvements in BlackBerry 10.2 include an updated Blackberry Hub to receive messages from priority contacts quicker, new BlackBerry Messenger alerts and previewing within apps and on the lock screen, and BlackBerry Natural Sound, which BlackBerry says is its own exclusive technology to improve sound quality on BBM voice and video chats. In addition, the Z30 smartphone comes with the new BlackBerry Paratek Antenna, which the company says improves cell connectivity in poor signal areas.
