Bouygues to launch B&You mobile brand, VoIP for youth market
French mobile and broadband operator Bouygues Telecom announced plans to launch a new brand under which it will offer mobile services to young consumers. From 18 July B&You will serve the "internet generation", used to going online to find answers, on forums to exchange ideas, and capable of setting their handset's parameters "nearly as quickly as a professional". In a market first, Bouygues states explicitly that B&You customers will be able to use VoIP via Wi-Fi. B&You services will also come without a contract tie-in period. There will be two packages at launch, offering unlimited calls (with VoIP), SMS, MMS and Wi-Fi for EUR 24.90 a month, and the same plus 500 MB of 3G internet access for EUR 36.90 a month. (Additional mobile data is charged at EUR 0.05 per MB.) These prices do not include phones, which the operator will sell at cost. More plans will be announced during the second half.
