BT announces new Halo 3+ converged home broadband product

BT and EE have announced the new BT Halo 3+ converged package combining fibre home broadband, Wi-Fi and the EE mobile network. The package is based around the new BT Hybrid Connect device, which the company says works "straight out of the box to let customers get online".

Halo 3+ customers will get the Hybrid Connect device, the Smart Hub 2 router, an upgrade to BT full-fibre broadband where available, BT Complete Wi-Fi (for a strong Wi-Fi signal in every room of their house), BT Home Tech Expert support, the BT Halo Price Promise and BT Mobile/EE mobile benefits. The Hybrid Connect device works with the Smart Hub 2 to automatically connect to the EE mobile network for back-up home broadband if needed. It will automatically switch back to the fixed connection when the broadband connection is restored.

With BT Halo 3+, all BT mobile customers in a BT Halo household will get a double data boost free of charge. There are other offers for those taking EE mobile, including six months half-price on a new EE Mobile Smart plan at launch.

BT Halo 3+ will be available across the UK from 05 February, costing from EUR 65.99 per month for new customers. Existing BT broadband customers can add Hybrid Connect for an extra GBP 7 per month, along with Complete Wi-Fi for an extra GBP 10 per month.
