BT has announced new investment in its cyber security capabilities across Europe, including a new Cyber Security Operations Centre (Cyber SOC) in Paris. It is also expanding existing SOCs in Madrid and Frankfurt with upgraded facilities, new customer solutions and new recruitment.
BT's global network of SOCs and 3,000 specialist security employees protects the company against 125,000 cyber attacks per month. They also provide cyber security services and products to consumers, businesses and governments.
The new Paris SOC will provide advanced incident detection, threat intelligence, orchestration and automation services. It has been designed to meet both PDIS and European NIS Directive regulations. BT is currently going through the qualification process for PDIS certification in France.
The Madrid SOC will re-locate to a new, purpose-built facility, with around 50 cyber experts to be based at this new centre. This enhanced facility will provide Cloud Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM). The Frankfurt SOC, which opened in 2017, will also offer Cloud SIEM services directly to customers from July 2019.
