China Telecom exclusive provider of Xbox One in China

China Telecom has been selected as exclusive carrier of Microsoft’s Xbox One video game console, the first of its kind to launch in the Chinese mainland this autumn. The Xbox One game console can be combined with China Telecom’s new product Yue Me. The Xbox One consoles will be available in September from China Telecom at its physical stores and online. The Chinese operator says via this agreement, customers will have access to entertainment that combines TV family entertainment, video, games and education.

Tao Ming, president and CEO of BesTV New Media, which established a joint venture in the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone with Microsoft in September 2013, say they will work on the upgrade, research and development of Xbox One to "make it a necessity for mid- and high-level family broadband users and a mainstream product popular among all the households." BesTV signed agreements with Microsoft in April to become exclusive partner for Xbox One game consoles.

Microsoft adds more video streaming features to Xbox

Microsoft announced at the Gamescom show in Cologne a range of new social and TV features available to preview on its Xbox One games console. In addition to the recently announced digital tuner, the Xbox One will get an app to support playback of media files from an attached USB device or from a network-connected home media server that supports DLNA protocols. JD.com, Tencent launch Xbox presale offer in China

Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencentm in partnership with with Chinese e-commerce group JD.com will offer early advance sales of Microsoft's Xbox One consoles in China, The WSJ reports. Tencent's WeChat and mobile QQ messaging software will be able to reserve the new Xbox with a deposit of CNY 499 (approximately USD 81), before the company begins taking preorders from other Chinese consumers on 31 July. Oriental Pearl, Sony sign JV deals to produce PlayStation

Chinese media firm Shanghai Oriental Pearl Group has signed an agreement with Sony to establish two joint ventures in Shanghai's pilot free-trade zone, for the manufacture and marketing of Sony's PlayStation game console hardware and software, Marbridge Daily reports. The Chinese group inked the deal through its subsidiary Shanghai Oriental Pearl Culture Development. Microsoft to bring Xbox One to China in September

Microsoft announced plans to launch its Xbox One games console in China this September. The console will be launched with Microsoft partner BesTV New Media Co, a subsidiary of Shanghai Media Group. Microsoft and BesTV formed a joint venture, E-Home Entertainment Development Company, in September 2013. ZTE had formed a venture with online game developer The9 to make a gaming console in Chia. ZTE9 Network Technology plans to release the Fun Box console this month, Qin Yina, a spokeswoman for ZTE, told Bloomberg. Sony Ericsson targets expansion in US, China
