Cisco appoints Chuck Robbins as new CEO
Cisco has appointed Chuck Robbins its new CEO from 26 July. Robbins, who joined Cisco in 1997, was also elected to the board of directors from 1 May. Current CEO and chairman of the board John Chambers will assume the role of executive chairman on 26 and will continue to serve as chairman of Cisco's board. 

Robbins joined the company in 1997 and most recently served as senior vice president of worldwide operations, leading the company's global sales and partner team. He has helped lead and execute many of the company's investments and strategy shifts, including building the partner program, creating the company's strategy for the commercial business segment, and sponsoring the security and collaboration businesses at the executive level. 

Chambers has served as CEO of Cisco since 1995. As executive chairman, he will devote his time to supporting Robbins and engaging with customers and governments around the world, with a focus on leading Cisco's role in country digitization.
