Claro, Sony ink deal to launch Crackle in 9 LatAm markets

Sony Pictures Television Networks and America Movil have signed an agreement to launch Sony’s Crackle subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service on the Claro Video platform in Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. The partners previously launched Crackle on Claro Video in Mexico.

The cost of subscribing to the service will vary depending on the country but all content will be delivered in HD and can be viewed in the original language, subtitled or dubbed into Spanish or Portuguese from PCs, smart TVs, tablets and smartphones. The first month will be available for free.

Sony has reached deals to offer Crackle in partnership with over 50 operators throughout the region and recently signed an agreement with BBC Worldwide to add three acclaimed BBC series to its catalogue.

The offers include a prepay bundle costing NIO 20 (around USD 0.60) that gives users access to unlimited data for a 2-hour period. The postpay offers come with unlimited WhatsApp use, messaging and voice minutes for plans ranging from NIO 350 (USD 11) to NIO 1,450 (USD 45) for 15GB of data, American and European roaming plus unlimited messaging and voice minutes.

Sony's Crackle available to Viva Bolivia mobile clients

Sony Pictures Television Networks has announced a deal to offer its Crackle subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service to the customers of Bolivian mobile operator Viva. Under the terms of the deal, Viva subscribers will be able to access ad-free Crackle content, including full original series and movies on their smartphones and connected devices for BOB 25 (around USD 3.20) a month. America Movil has begun informing customers that it's increasing the price of subscribing to its Claro Video platform from MXN 69 to MXN 99 this month for new users. The service is already included in Infinitum 389, 499, 599, 699, 999, 1399, 1499 and Infinitum Puro convergent plans from Telmex and Sony's Crackle service was  to the platform's content, which already includes Fox Premium and HBO Go.

Argentinian pay-TV and fixed line operator Supercanal Airlink has reached a deal with Sony Pictures Television Networks to offer the latter's Crackle subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service via its mobile platform, smart TVs, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox and PlayStation 4.
