Com Hem to offer Netflix through Tivo service
Swedish cable operator Com Hem agreed a content deal with online video service Netflix. The Netflix app on Com Hem's TiVo service will enable Com Hem's customers to watch Netflix original series such as 'House of Cards', 'Hemlock Grove', 'Arrested Development' and 'Orange is the New Black' as well as documentaries, children's programmes and other content available in the service. Com Hem said this is the first time Netflix is offered by a Swedish pay-TV provider. Netflix earlier announced a similar agreement with UK cable operator Virgin Media, also over a Tivo box.

Com Hem said it is the first operator in Sweden to provide Netflix via its digital TV service, as it makes it available through TiVo. Netflix can be found under "applications" within TiVo and will cost SEK 79 per month, but is currently available on three months' free trial. ComHem said the Netflix app makes it possible to watch entire series of drama and comedies such as Hemlock Grove, Arrested Development, Orange is the New Black and Breaking Bad.

Com Hem adds Horse & Country, Fuel to TV line-up

Swedish fixed line operator Com Hem said it is adding the 'Horse & Country' and 'Fuel' channels to its TV line-up. Horse & Country is on position 31 and broadcasts equestrian news and documentaries as well as shows about other aspects of nature and rural life. Fuel is on position 117 and runs show concerning extreme sports and lifestyle, including skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, BMX, motorcross and wakeboarding. Both channels are included on TiVo Max and TiVo Plus.

Netflix publishes October speed ratings for Nordic ISPs

Netflix has published its October speed rankings for fixed-line ISPs in the Nordic region. In Sweden, the fastest ISP was Ownit, with an average speed of 3.28 Mbps. In Denmark, Waoo! through regional operator Trefor was the fastest ISP at 3.09 Mbps. In Norway, Altibox came top at 3.07 Mbps. In Finland, Kymp was fastest, at an average speed of 3.07 Mbps.

Com Hem says Cartoon Networks runs Xmas contest in November

Swedish operator Com Hem said Cartoon Networks is making an early start to Christmas by running a Looney Tunes cartoon every from 01 to 24 November at 17:30 hrs, with the chance to win Christmas present every day. Competitiors must register on the Cartoon Networks Swedish homepage. These are new Looney Tunes episodes and each one gives a clue for the competition. This is the ninth year in a row that Cartoon Networks has run a 'Christmas in November' spot.

C More says HBO's 'Looking' makes Swedish debut in January

Nordic pay-TV provider C More Entertainment said the HBO comedy-drama series 'Looking' will have its debut in Sweden on 20 January. The serial follows the fortunes of three gay men in San Francisco. It wil also be available in the on-demand service, C More Play. It stars Jonathan Groff from 'Glee', Frankie J Alvarez, and Murray Bartlett. Guest actors include 'Quantum Leap' star Scott Bakula and Russell Tovey from the UK version of 'Being Human' and 'The History Boys'.

Trefor offers Netflix to fibre-optic broadband customers

Danish operator Trefor said its fibre-optic broadband customers can now access Netflix services thanks to a partnership between Waoo! and Netflix.
