Deutsche Telekom eyes Belgacom - report

Deutsche Telekom has expressed interest in acquiring part or all of the Belgian government's stake in Belgacom, reports Belgian paper Le Soir. The Belgian state controls 53.5 percent of the operator. However, the government turned the German operator away, as it is unable to negotiate on strategic issues such as a stake sale while the country still has a caretaker government. The government reportedly left the door open for talks once a permanent government is formed.
