Deutsche Telekom, Netflix discuss partnership - report
Deutsche Telekom and TV streaming portal Netflix are in talks about a possible partnership in Germany, reports Manager Magazin citing unnamed sources familiar with the situation. Netflix is set to expand into Germany by end-2014. The sources said that discussions about a marketing partnership were advanced, but added that no agreement had yet been reached. Deutsche Telekom declined to comment on the report.

T-Systems voluntary redundancy scheme has low take-up

Plans to cut 4,900 German posts at Deutsche Telekom unit T-Systems are lagging behind, with only 574 people volunteering for redundancy so far, telecom-handel.de reported, citing Focus magazine. A Deutsche Telekom spokesman talking to Focus declined to rule out compulsory redundancies any longer.

Vivendi's Watchever subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) service in Germany has added new content to its portfolio. In May and June, over 700 hours of new TV series and film content were added, including 200 hours of film and 500 hours of TV show content.

Deutsche Telekom en Netflix voeren gesprekken over een mogelijke samenwerking in Duitsland. Dat schrijft het Duitse blad Manager Magazin op basis van bronnen die bekend zijn met de plannen. Naar verluidt wil het Amerikaanse Netflix eind 2014 uitbreiden in Duitsland. Volgens de bronnen zouden gesprekken over het gezamenlijk optrekken in marketing al in vergevorderd stadium zijn, maar er is nog geen overeenkomst bereikt.

French media group Vivendi is seeking a buyer for its Watchever subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) service in Germany, French newspaper 'Les Echo' has learned. US bank Merrill Lynch is understood to have been given a mandate for the sale. Netflix has agreed to stop sending messages blaming Verizon's broadband service for slow delivery of its shows and films, reports Reuters.
