Euroset could be divided between Beeline, Megafon - report

Russian mobile operators Megafon and Vimpelcom, working under the Beeline brand, are in talks about dividing the business of mobile retail chain Euroset, reports Vedomosti citing three independent unspecified sources. Both operators own 50 percent stakes in Euroset. No final decision has yet been taken, though one could soon be announced.

Both operators plan to take half of over 4,000 branded shops of the chain in order to transform the shops into mono-branded retail outlets for the operators. The Euroset brand may be eliminated. Some sources believe that discussions around the division started after rumours started circulating about a possible sale of Vimpelcom's Russian business.
