Facebook announced a new feature for its mobile users to locate friends nearby. When users turn on the Nearby Friends function in the Facebook app, they will receive notifications when friends are nearby. The optional feature allows users to choose which friends can locate them and when. They can choose to share a precise location with particular friends for a set period, such as the next hour. Each side needs to opt in to the feature for it to work. Nearby Friends will be available on Android and iPhone in the US in the coming weeks.
