Huawei ships 95 mln smartphones in H1

Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) announced it shipped more than 95 million smartphones in the first half of 2018. This puts the company on track to exceed last year's full-year shipments of 153 million. Huawei said already in July that it passed 100 million shipments in the year to date. 

According to IDC, Huawei became the world’s second largest smartphone manufacturer in the second quarter, with a global market share of 15.8 percent. 

According to Huawei, global shipments of its P20 series surpassed 9 million units, the Huawei Mate 10 Series reached global shipments of over 10 million units; while globally, the number of Nova smartphone users exceeded 50 million. Total shipments of the Nova series increased by 60 percent year-on-year. Shipments of Huawei wearables achieved a 147 percent increase year-over-year. 

Huawei currently operates over 53,000 Huawei stores and 3,500 Huawei Experience Stores globally. The company plans to boost its retail network by adding another 10,000 retail stores and 700 Experience Stores around the world by end-2018.

Huawei overtakes Apple to become world's second-largest smartphone maker

The global smartphone market contracted again in the second quarter, down by 3 percent year-on-year to 350 million units, according to the latest research from Strategy Analytics. Huawei passes 100 mln smartphones shipped in year to date

Huawei's smartphone shipments in the year to date passed 100 million on 18 July, Cnet reported, citing remarks from CEO Richard Yu on China's Weibo.
