Honor reports international sales up 150% in H1

Huawei has reported continued strong sales at its Honor brand. Outside its home market China, Honor's sales volume increased 150 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2018. The growth was led by the popular Honor 10 smartphone, which has already sold over 3 million units since its launch in April.

Honor said in a statement that the strong sales put it on track to reach its goal of ranking among the top three mobile brands globally in the next five years. The company said it was already in the top three in certain markets, such as Russia, where Honor surpassed Apple in May to become the second-largest smartphone brand in terms of sales volume. Honor also claims to be the fastest growing smartphone vendor in India, with a 300 percent increase in sales volume and revenue in the first half of 2018.

Honor already claims the top spot among online brands in the Chinese market and is ranked in the top five of all smartphone brands there. In the period January to April, Honor sold 18.07 million units and saw sales revenue reach CNY 26.3 billion, according to Sino Market Research.
