Instagram reaches half billion users
Instagram announced that it has passed over 500 million users worldwide. The company last reported the milestone of 400 million users in September 2015 and 300 million in December 2014. Over 300 million of the current users use the photo-sharing app every day, and 80 percent of total users are outside the US, the company said.

Instagram starts Stories which delete after 24 hours

Instagram has launched a new feature called Instagram Stories, allowing users to post photos and videos that disappear 24 hours later. The company said users can now "share all the moments of your day, not just the ones you want to keep on your profile". Instagram heeft de grens van 500 miljoen gebruikers bereikt. Wereldwijd stond de teller in september 2015 op 400 miljoen, in december 2014 op 300 miljoen. Meer dan 300 miljoen van de huidige gebruikers gebruikt de foto sharing app dagelijks. Zo'n 20 procent van de gebruikers woont in de VS, de rest erbuiten, zo laat Instagram weten.

Instagram announced that it's grown to over 400 million users. It last reported the milestone of 300 million users in December 2014. The company said more than 75 percent of users are outside the US, and more than half of the last 100 million users to join came from Europe and Asia. The countries that added the most Instagrammers include Brazil, Japan and Indonesia. Over 80 million photos per day are shared on Instagram, which was acquired by Facebook in 2012.
