Mobile licensing group InterDigital has appointed Allen Proithis as vice president, business development and strategic solutions. In his role, Proithis will hold responsibility for establishing and developing business agreements and identifying new business opportunities. Prior to joining InterDigital, Proithis was senior director strategy and business development in the consumer devices division at TE Connectivity. In that role, he led a global team dedicated to strategy, mergers and acquisitions and marketing for the mobile, consumer electronics and PC industries. Before joining TE, Proithis spent almost seven years at HP, most recently as head of strategy and business development for the Handheld business unit. In this function, he drove all initiatives for devices, software and services. Proithis had previously been the director of business development in HP's Personal Systems Group.
