Juniper Networks refreshes metro, edge and core products

Juniper Networks said it refreshed its metro, edge and core products to accelerate service providers’ 5G transformation. These new Juniper products comprise IP optimised silicon enabling 400GbE density on a new 14.4Tb line card, new ACX access and aggregation platforms and an expanded MX 5G router portfolio. The company said its new products will help service providers achieve a holistic approach to infrastructure transformation.

Juniper’s new products give providers an operations-driven approach to infrastructure transformation built on security, automation and cloud functionalities. To complement these new infrastructure enhancements, Juniper’s widely-deployed Contrail software portfolio enables service operators to transform from managing individual devices to automating the full operational lifecycle with one integrated software suite, simplifying the design, implementation and operations of the network.

Juniper Networks integrates platforms with SONiC

Juniper Networks announced native integration of its platforms with Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC), which was developed and contributed to the Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation by Microsoft. This integration will give cloud providers a simplified and automated switch management platform, enhanced by the rich routing and deep telemetry innovations valued by customers, the company said in a press release.

Juniper Networks buys Mist Systems for USD 405 mln

Juniper Networks has agreed to acquire Mist Systems, a specialist in AI cloud-managed mobile networks, for USD 405 million. The transaction is expected to close in Juniper's fiscal second quarter. It will likely have a slightly accretive effect to adjusted earnings per share in 2020, after having a small dilutive effect this year, the company said. With the deal, Juniper will combine Mist's WLAN platform with its own wired LAN, SD-WAN and security system, for an end-to-end user and IT offering.

Juniper Networks cautions for slower Q4 after higher-than-expected Q3

Juniper Networks' third-quarter results beat expectations, with continued enterprise strength and better than expected service provider numbers offsetting weakness in the cloud.
