Lenovo sells Brazil's CCE to previous owners

PC manufacturer Lenovo announced that it has sold Brazilian PC and consumer electronics manufacturer CCE to its previous owners, the Sverner family. The deal includes the CCE brand and factory. According to Lenovo, the decision is part of its efforts to improve operational efficiency and profitability of the PC business globally and in Brazil. In mid-August, the companies signed a commercial agreement and this change is part of Lenovo's strategic focus on higher value-added products. Lenovo stressed it will maintain its operations at the Brazilian plant located in Itu, in Sao Paulo, as well as its premium line of PCs, servers (including the recently acquired System X line) and mobile products of the Motorola brand. Lenovo had purchased CCE in 2012 for an estimated BRL 300 million.
